The rest of the Homestar Runner DVDs

Since the last post I have finished up all the Strong Bad Emails DVDs as well as the "Everything Else" DVDs from Homestarrunner.com. Since then I have not really been compelled to write anything. This isn't because they were bad or mediocre, just more that they are all of the same high quality as the other releases I mentioned already.

Just get them. No more has to be said.

Strong Bad Emails Disc 4

After the fantastic first 100 emails dvd set, I just had to dive in and watch the fourth. There's just something about watching these on a big screen in rapid succession with a group of people that really makes this worthwhile.

Some of my favorites are on here including Radio and my personal favorite, Virus. My brother and I found ourselves laughing quite hard even at emails we knew by heart.

My only complaint about the email was the awkwardness of navigation and the Easter Eggs again seemed rather difficult to get at, even when you knew they were there and knew how to get to them but this could be due to my DVD player. The other issue was when you played emails individually (as opposed to the Play All) you could get to the Easter Eggs but lost the option to pause. Again, this could have been my player but it made things rather annoying when bathroom trips were needed.

If you love Homestarrunner.com then you know enough to pick these up.

strongbad_email.exe

Who would have ever thought I would have paid cash money for what is routinely given away. Granted, I do this every single time I buy a DVD of a film that will most likely come to Starz and I could just record them but when it's an internet thing you don't have that sort of option. Regardless, it's fantastic!

For those living under a rock for the last 8 years or so, Strong Bad is a some form of Lucha Libre wrestler who has boxing gloves for hands and gets in front of his outdated computers and answers emails from fans who write in, usually belittling them before it leads into a comedic skit. The first few take a while to get going but once the Brothers Chaps got the formula down around 20 or so, there's rarely one you'll feel like skipping.

The content may be free online but the DVDs have enough extras to keep you busy. There are some bonus emails as well as interviews and some weird karaoke things. My brother and I are both big fans of the website and thus had a blast with these. Now we have to watch Discs 4 and 5 (sold separately from the first 100) as well as the Everything Else discs.

If I have any complaints it's that the Easter Eggs work better on the site as opposed to on the DVD.
