Chobits - Vol. 6: My Only Person
In the thrilling climax and conclusion to Chobits the true origins of Chi are revealed as well as all the secrets that everyone has been hiding suddenly come out to the forefront. It's quite the clash at the end and the ending actually had me guessing for a while.I think the first thing to mention about Chobits, now that I have seen the end, is that it is a show that frankly I just don't understand it. In some ways I wonder if it is every fanboy's fantasy to have his computer or toys basically come to love and return the love that they pour into them at the expense of relationships with other humans. Chobits seems to say, to me, that it is okay to love your toys.
In that regard, Chobits, I'm afraid, loses some points. Honestly, while the whole robot love thing seems to leave me with more of a depressed feeling than that of joy for the characters.
In the end, computers and robots are no substitutes for human emotions and such. People do give their hearts to strange things but I hope that the otakus out there don't take this all too seriously.
So, Chobits as a whole is worth watching for the fun, although I doubt I will rewatch it much, if ever.
